For the last three years, we’ve been building quietly. This November, Into the Forest brings it all together: an exhibition that invites you to explore the forests of the Nilgiri Biosphere Reserve through craft, ecology and storytelling.

Across parts of the Nilgiris, these invasive plants have spread into native habitats, taking over entire landscapes. As part of our mission ,we work with the Forest Departments of Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka to clear these plants to allow the native flora and fauna to flourish.

Our forests are silently changing

Giving invasives a new purpose

Every forest is full of stories. Stories of animals that move through the canopy, creatures that appear with the rain, plants that shape the landscape, and people who have lived alongside them for generations. What we clear from the forest becomes the wood we carve into art, so these stories can be celebrated.

Across parts of the Nilgiri landscape, invasive plants such as Senna spectabilis and Lantana camara have spread into native habitats, taking over entire landscapes.

We work with the Forest Departments of Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka to clear these two invasive species. What we recover becomes the wood we carve, shape and bring to life.

We are The Elephant People

We are from the Nilgiri Biosphere Reserve, one of the most biodiverse places on Earth and home to the largest population of Asian Elephants on the planet. We live and work along the edges of these forests, moving with their seasons and sharing this land with the plants and animals around us.

Some days, we pause to watch a woodpecker near our workshop. On others, we watch an elephant enjoy ripe jackfruit in our backyards. This is what it means to share space. This is at the heart of what we make. Every piece carries a story of this connection, the land and the life around us.
